Description

Product Description: Propranolol Injection is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution used for intravenous administration. It is a beta-adrenergic blocking agent indicated for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmias, and other cardiovascular conditions.

Indications and Usage: Propranolol Injection is indicated for the management of hypertension, angina pectoris, and tachyarrhythmias. It is also used for the prophylaxis of myocardial infarction, migraine headaches, and essential tremor.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Propranolol Injection should be individualized based on the patient's condition and response to therapy. It is administered intravenously at an initial rate of 1 mg/min, titrated upward as needed to achieve the desired therapeutic effect. The maximum recommended dose is 2 mg/min.

Dosage Forms and Strengths: Propranolol Injection is available as a sterile solution in vials or ampules for intravenous use. It is commonly supplied in concentrations of 1 mg/mL or 2 mg/mL.

Contraindications: Propranolol Injection is contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma, severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and overt cardiac failure. It should not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to propranolol or other beta-blockers.

Warnings and Precautions: Use caution when administering Propranolol Injection to patients with diabetes mellitus, hyperthyroidism, or peripheral vascular disease. Abrupt withdrawal of beta-blockers may precipitate rebound hypertension or angina.
